If corporations are people, and slavery is illegal, then
why are corporations allowed to own other corporations?

A radical thought: Corporations are a legal fiction and, as such, they have no inherent rights. They only have whatever rights and privileges are granted to them by the legislature.

Richard, I understand that it is legal because the law allows it. What I'm asking is why it is legal, as it seems not to make any sense.
